About Hansard Watch

An Accessible Database to Canada’s Parliamentary Debates

What is Hansard Watch and how it works?

Hansard Watch is a speaker-level Canadian parliamentary transcript database covering Hansards from:

  • House of Commons debates
  • Parliamentary committees

It captures up to 10 years of parliamentary debates, attributes every statement to an individual speaker, and links each result back to the original Hansard source.

Our Technology

Gnowit, founded in Ottawa, Canada in 2010, employs AI and machine learning to deliver real-time updates. Our software "understands" the text of new articles and intelligently selects those that are useful.

Today, we run a distributed platform that tracks millions of web sources in real-time, making over three billion web calls a month.

Our Vision: Leveraging AI

To make monitoring possible at Internet scale, we leverage artificial intelligence to monitor, capture, clean, analyse, filter, and organize information. For those who follow AI research, we are patterning our platform on the "Belief-Desire-Intention" (BDI) framework.
